How does custom walk-in closet design work?
It starts with a free in-home design visit. A designer comes to your home, measures the room and sketches options on the spot, with no charge and no obligation. The closet is drawn to your actual walls, windows and ceiling, then built to those measurements. Pricing depends on the size of the room and the finish, so call for a free estimate.
Can a small walk-in closet still be custom designed?
Yes. Compact walk-ins are where planning matters most. Double hanging for shirts and pants, drawer banks in place of open floor, corner units and shelving that runs all the way to the ceiling let a small room hold far more than a single rod and shelf. The designer fits every section to the space you have.
What is a good shelving layout for a walk-in closet?
The layout follows your wardrobe. Most walk-ins combine double hanging for shorter pieces, a long-hanging section for dresses and coats, a drawer tower for folded items, adjustable shelves and shoe shelving sized to your pairs. Belt, tie and jewelry pull-outs go where you reach for them. In a wide room an island with drawers can sit in the middle.
Who builds and installs the walk-in closet?
We do both. Every closet is built in our Warminster, PA shop and installed by our own crew. The system is floor-mounted and anchored to the wall, so drawers and full hanging rods are carried by the floor rather than by drywall. Standard parts carry a lifetime limited transferable warranty.

How much more storage does a custom walk-in closet add?+
A designed walk-in typically holds two to three times what the same room held with a single rod and shelf. The gain comes from double hanging for shirts and pants, drawer banks in place of open floor, shoe shelving sized to your pairs, and vertical space used all the way to the ceiling.
Is a floor-mounted closet system better than a wall-hung one?+
Yes for a walk-in you plan to keep for the life of the home. Floor-mounted panels sit on the floor and anchor to the wall, so the weight of drawers and full hanging rods is carried by the floor, not by drywall. Wall-hung systems are quicker to install but flex and sag as they load up.
Can a walk-in closet include a center island?+
Yes, when the room is wide enough to keep a walkway on both sides. An island adds a bank of drawers, a countertop for folding and jewelry trays, and can carry the same finish as the wall units. The designer confirms clearances during the free in-home measurement before it goes into the plan.
What accessories can be built into a custom walk-in closet?+
Belt and tie pull-outs, jewelry trays with dividers, valet rods, pull-down hanging rods for high spaces, shoe shelves and slanted shoe racks, hampers, and integrated lighting. Full-length mirrors are available on request. Each accessory is placed where you reach for it, not wherever a stock kit puts it.
What materials are custom walk-in closets built from?+
Three-quarter inch and one inch laminated particle board or three-quarter inch plywood, with laminated finishes that wipe clean. Drawers run on European full-extension glides with soft-close hardware. Twenty-five colors are kept in stock and more are available on request, so the closet can match or contrast the room.
Do you design walk-in closets for sloped ceilings and odd corners?+
Yes. Each closet is drawn to the actual walls, including sloped attic ceilings, dormers, radiators, and windows. Corner units, angled panels, and varied shelf depths keep the awkward spots usable. Because the cabinetry is built to your measurements, a room that looked unusable often ends up as the best storage in the house.
How long does a walk-in closet installation take?+
A single walk-in closet is usually installed in four to six hours by our own crew, with larger rooms and islands taking one to two days. From the free in-home design to installation, most projects run two to four weeks depending on finish availability. You do not need to leave the house during the install.
Do I need to leave the house during installation?+
No. Our crew works around you. A typical install for a single closet takes 4–6 hours; larger projects span one to two days.
